In 2006 the Dutch Iron Maiden fan club asked Joey Bruers to do a special show; something other than the regular tribute or cover band. With musicians from several bands he performed a set of rearranged acoustic Maiden songs. The idea that became a show then became a project. A project to bring all kinds of musicians and fans from all over the world together to celebrate the music. With succesfull studio albums and live shows through Europe this project presents classic Iron Maiden songs in a re-imagined form. Acoustic rearrangements that transform the songs into something that Iron Maiden fans would have never imagined hearing. 3 albums (Mind The Acoustic Pieces/2010, Across The Seventh Sea/2012, Remembrance/2015) later Maiden uniteD released their first EP in June 2018. A double EP ‘Empire of the Clouds’ to complete their highlight of Maiden uniteD’s career. It was January 27th 2018 when the band performed at the Royal Theatre of Amsterdam: Carre. As a special gift to the fans the band decided to play their interpretation of the track ‘Empire of the Clouds’. The reactions from the crowd were overwhelming. Maiden uniteD decided to record this track in 4 parts to create a new EP. The bonus disc to complete the double EP contains the live-recordings of the track Live in Carre, Amsterdam.
